A high school student from New York
had temporarily stayed my home from Nov. 11 to 19 on an AFS exchange program. It was our first experience to take care of a foreign student. As he had already stayed at a home of Mito in Ibaragi prefecture for more than 2 months, his Japanese was very good and there was alomost no problem for communication. He is a Japanese manga freak and he even knows Japanese authors we don't know at all. He is a so-called "Anime-otaku" in Japanese. In addition, he loves doing Internet on a computer. Instead of visiting Kamakura, one of the most famous Japnaese historic sites, he went to Shibuya and Harajuku in Tokyo to buy some clothes and had fun at a Karaoke room. The best things he loved were the beautiful scenery from Yokohama Landmark Tower (the tallest building in Japan) and Cosmo Clock 21 (one of the largest ferris-wheels in the world) at Minato-Mirai in Yokohama. He repeated "Awesome!"
while visiting Yokohama. I hope he will come back to our home some day because I keep his account with my computer at his request.

It looks like you have done most of the posts. Good job!
It is a good experience to have an exchange student. When I was youg, my family had 3 Japanese JH students. Maybe that caused me to be intersted in Japan more from a young age.
